Breakfast with The Clean is an art package put together by the NZ Music Foundation and The Clean to raise funds for the NZ Music Foundation, and will be available exclusively from Real Groovy on Record Store Day (how lucky are we?!)
The NZ Music Foundation is a local charity that facilitates projects nationwide that use music in healthcare and works with people who may be at risk and/or vulnerable. It also provides emergency assistance to Kiwi musicians experiencing illness and hardship, and gives free professional counseling to those in the NZ music industry who would otherwise be unable to access help.
The Clean are one of the most highly esteemed bands in New Zealand music, having a critically acclaimed discography spanning over the past three decades. Just last month The Clean won the Taite Classic Record Award for their 1981 EP ‘Boodle Boodle Boodle’. The Clean Members, Robert Scott and brothers David & Hamish Kilgour, have each contributed an original artwork to The NZ Music Foundation which have been applied to a tea towel, a mug and a plate respectively. This set will be available on Record Store Day, and only 50 of them have been made, so first here first served!
NZ Music Foundation General Manager Peter Dickens says: “This is a great present idea and a fantastic way to own something unique from one of New Zealand’s best bands. We’re very grateful to the members of The Clean for their generosity and creativity, and also to the excellent people at Real Groovy for their help in making the sets available to the public.”
The tea towel, mug and plate sets are available now from the Real Groovy website
and in-store for $100, with all proceeds going to The NZ Music Foundation.
