Tatou Tatou E is the brand new local artist compilation from Kog, featuring production from Chong-Nee.  With sounds of organic soul, urban soul & electronic elements, Kog Studio & a top shelf selection of Aotearoa artists present their Teo Reo Maori waiata over the sublime beats of renowned producer Chong-Nee.

 

Tatou Tatou E features original waiata from artists such as Huia Hamon, Rachel Fraser (Recloose, Isaac Aesili), Jermaine Leef, Ron Mak & 2XL, over production from South Auckland’s own Chong-Nee.

 

Fully created at Kog Studio, with the assistance of Te Mangai Paho, Tatou Tatou E has vibes to suit everyone, from reggae swing, Rn’B grooves & electronic rhythms.

The main aim of the compilation was to create some high quality Te Reo Maori music for everyone to enjoy.

 

Tatou Tatou E combines the skills of trusted friend & mentor Ruia Aperahama, alongside renowned producer, artist, mastering & music guru Chris Chetland (Baitercell) & added a spice of fresh energy, like Kog’s engineer’s Regan Riri & Andrew Clark.

 

Include a dash of Kog’s premium analogue gear, flick in a few thousand hours of extra work & the Tatou Tatou E project has come alive!

 

Tatou Tatou E 2 is already underway! With the return of vocalists Huia Hamon, Jermaine Leef & 2XL, Tatou 2 brings the righteous sounds of Hani Totorewa (Katchafire), Ruia Aperahama, WVVLC & Porina McLeod to the project; alongside the music of Leon Davies (Katchafire), Jerome Cashell, Mako (Hui-a), Chong-Nee & Regz Riri.

 

With the inspiration of the Waitakere ngahere (forest) in Kog’s new studio in Titirangi, Tatou Tatou E is a labour of aroha & is now ready to be shared with the world…
