Goldring was established in 1906 by brothers Heinrich and Julius Scharf, originally they manufactured parts such as needles, clockwork motors and governor springs for early gramophones. They eventually moved onto more sophisticated “sound boxes” which are the precursor to the modern magnetic pickup.
Today Goldring styli and cartridges are designed and handmade in the UK using their over 100 years of industry expertise gained across 3 generations.
Their E series is a set of high-quality entry level moving magnet cartridges which have received glowing reviews from audio enthusiasts across the globe. They are a fantastic upgrade for most entry and mid-range turntables with standard half inch mounts. Plus because all styli in the E-series are interchangeable they offer an easy upgrade path.
