The experience of a great film is the result of many elements from the skills of the screenwriter, director, and actors to the creative touch of the cinematographer and the editor. One of the elements that sticks with us most is often the music. The soundtrack, whether made up of previously released music or an entirely original score, colors the mood of a movie and creates powerful associations in the brain. The use of music can be sincerely emotive, sarcastically transformative, intensely creepy, upbeat and energizing, or subtle yet powerful.
