Real Groovy uses industry standard data encryption for transmission of any personal information. Real Groovy makes no warranty in respect of the effectiveness of encryption used. Accordingly, any information which you transmit to us is transmitted at your own risk.


In-Store Returns

At Real Groovy, we strive to provide the best service and products to our customers. Please read our return policy carefully to understand your rights and our obligations.

Change of Mind

Please choose carefully, as we do not offer refunds if you change your mind after purchase. If you would like the option for a gift exchange, contact us first, and we'll see what we can do.

Faulty Goods

If the goods are faulty, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. This means we will:

  • Firstly, exchange or replace the faulty goods.
  • If an exchange or replacement is not possible, we will provide a refund.

Gift Exchange

If you would like the option for a gift exchange, you need to inform our staff before making the purchase.

Trade-In Policy

If your return does not meet the conditions for a refund or exchange, some goods (such as LPs, CDs, and DVDs) can be traded back through our second-hand trades department. For eligible items:

  • We offer in-store credit of 60% of the new item price and 70% of the second-hand item price, provided you still have your receipt and complete the trade within two weeks.

Website Returns

The Real Groovy website operates separately from our physical store and will accept returns for the following reasons:

  • Goods damaged or faulty prior to delivery.
  • Goods supplied incorrectly.
  • Goods damaged in transit (original packaging material proof required for return).
  • Goods that vary from their description on the website.

If the goods are faulty, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act (1993) and the Fair Trading Act (1986) to firstly exchange or replace faulty goods, and if that is not possible, provide a refund.
